As part of my bachelor’s degree in accounting, co-op program, at UQTR, I completed three 3-month internships at Bourassa Boyer Inc. My certification internship at Bourassa Boyer began in the summer of 2024. I was looking for my first experience in accounting. During university recruitment activities, I met Amélie Rhéaume, a partner, as well as her team of CPAs and interns at the Vaudreuil-Soulanges office.
After accepting an internship offer, I met the firm’s multidisciplinary team, who are brilliant, welcoming, and warm professionals. Bourassa Boyer is an office full of experts who all consider themselves family. They embrace the next generation of determined young professionals with open arms.
One of the things I appreciate about my internship environment is the time and energy that the firm’s employees and partners offer interns to put their knowledge into practice. My internship at Bourassa Boyer, which began in January 2024, was a truly memorable experience, both professionally and personally. I started my internship with Bourassa Boyer in the summer of 2022. From the first day, I felt welcomed by the team members, with everyone taking the time to come and greet me.
In my first assignment, I joined some colleagues on a special audit assignment. Working with two experienced CPAs allowed me to gain valuable knowledge quickly. Next, I took on my first compilation tasks, which allowed me to apply the accounting theory I learned at university and further develop my taxation skills. The diverse range of assignments during my internship not only enriched my experience but also confirmed that I was pursuing the right field.
What I value most about the firm is its dynamic team. Collaborating with the partners is particularly rewarding, as they invest time sharing everything they’ve learned from their years of experience.
